Marine Electronics & Control Board Repair
An unavailable control board does not have to be the end of otherwise serviceable marine equipment. Precision Electronics provides component-level diagnosis and repair for marine electronic controllers and circuit boards, from our Auckland workshop for customers throughout New Zealand.

An alternative to replacing the whole marine control module
Marine businesses operate electronic control equipment in demanding conditions. When a board fails, the first question is whether the faulty components can be repaired rather than replacing the complete module. Share the equipment make, model, board number and symptoms so we can establish whether an assessment is appropriate.
Obsolete equipment deserves a closer look. A replacement board may be discontinued, unavailable locally or tied to an expensive complete assembly. Component-level diagnosis can reveal whether repair is feasible even when a new board cannot be ordered. Repairability depends on the fault, board condition, available parts and the testing that can be carried out.
Before shipping a module overseas, compare a local assessment with the total replacement or overseas-repair route: freight, lead times, installation work and time out of service as well as the part price. A repair may offer a lower-cost route, but it is not automatically the best answer. We can also investigate suitable replacements through our global supply network.
What to send with a marine electronics repair enquiry
Include clear photographs of the equipment and board labels, the manufacturer and model, part or revision numbers, any fault codes and a description of what stopped working. Tell us about any known moisture exposure, corrosion or power-supply problems, and whether the fault is intermittent.
Have your marine service technician handle safe isolation and removal. Discuss the application with us before sending a unit: this service is for electronic controllers and circuit boards, not a blanket promise to repair every navigation display, radio or safety-critical system. Reinstallation and vessel-level checks remain part of the marine technician's work.
Can an obsolete marine circuit board be repaired?
Sometimes. The absence of a new replacement does not by itself rule out component-level repair. An assessment is needed to establish the condition of the board, the failed components and whether a repair can be meaningfully tested. Send the board details first so we can discuss the available route.
