Preventative Maintenance for Industrial Electronics

Plan when your electronic equipment is offline, rather than leaving it to a breakdown. Precision Electronics provides the specialist electronics maintenance support that sits alongside your machine manufacturer's maintenance instructions.

Find deterioration before it becomes a board failure

Cooling fans can carry dust and contamination into control cabinets. Moisture, poor cleaning practices and corrosive atmospheres can damage sensitive electronic components. Capacitors also deteriorate, and leaking electrolyte can corrode circuit-board tracks.

Our engineers look for failing capacitors and corroded tracks during service work. Equipment inspection and an appropriate service programme can help you identify deterioration before an unexpected electronics failure interrupts production.

Tell us which drives and controllers are installed, how the machinery is used and what maintenance is already carried out. We can discuss a service or inspection programme around the equipment and your planned downtime.

Sometimes the most obvious maintenance is overlooked

Written on the battery cover (right beside the operator panel) it says: “When replacing batteries (once a year) be sure that the control power is on. Only the alkaline manganese dioxide batteries should be used.”

The original batteries lasted nearly 30 years before the program memory was lost.

By maintaining your electronic equipment on a regular basis – you get to plan when your equipment will be offline rather than your equipment choosing for you – often at the most inopportune time.

Our preventative maintenance procedures, dramatically reduce the risk of unexpected failures. Benefits are cost effective, sustainable, reducing your carbon footprint.
